Mari Kawaguchi

Mari Kawaguchi is a Japan-born, longtime U.S. resident whose early path spanned education and high-level administrative work in scientific institutes in Europe and at Yale University. Her life shifted when she met Keith Emerson—a chance encounter that evolved into a decade-long personal and professional partnership. Mari became the hidden force behind Emerson’s public presence, guiding his social media, PR, website, business affairs, and merchandising.

A lifelong classical pianist, she shared with Keith a deep musical dialogue, spending countless hours observing his creative process and exploring the architecture and emotion of music together.
